Supporting Local Ideas for Lasting Impact

The Kyamba Foundation supports projects that align with its mission and values, and contribute to the wellbeing and vitality of the North-East Victorian communities and environment.

We welcome applications from individuals, organisations, and community groups working in one or more of our key focus areas:

  • Fostering Leadership – leadership, education, mentorship, and capacity-building

  • Creative Communities – creative expression and cultural enrichment

  • Health & Wellbeing – initiatives that support wellbeing and care

  • Caring for Nature & Wildlife – conservation, sustainability, and land stewardship.

Who Can Apply

We encourage applications from:

  • Local not-for-profit organisations

  • Community groups

  • Individuals with a clear plan, community benefit and association with a charitable organisation

  • Collaborations that bring together diverse skills and perspectives

Please note: Funding can only be provided to charitable organisations with DGR1 status. If you're unsure about your DGR status you can check it on the Australian Government ‘ABN Lookup’ website.

What We Look For

We prioritise projects that:

  • Reflect our values of integrity, innovation, leadership, personal growth, and self-reliance

  • Are practical, well-considered, and ready to implement

  • Lead to on-the-ground impact

  • Have clear goals and measurable outcomes

  • Strengthen community connections or capacity

How to Apply

The Kyamba Foundation considers grant applications primarily by invitation. That said, we’re open to receiving Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from organisations with impactful initiatives that align with our mission and values.

Timing & Process

  • EOIs are welcome at any time, but are typically reviewed annually in March.

  • In extenuating circumstances, we may consider EOIs outside this cycle - please flag this in your submission if relevant.

  • A small number of organisations whose EOIs closely align with our funding priorities will be invited to submit a detailed grant proposal, usually in April.

  • Funding decisions are made and communicated in May, with grant payments issued before 30th June.

What We Fund

  • We predominately fund whole, discrete projects - even small ones - where our support can make a clear and measurable difference.

  • We are open to seed funding projects to leverage other funding sources.

  • We will consider partial funding for larger initiatives, subject to scope and alignment.

  • The Foundation generally does not fund administrative or salary-related costs.
